This is the parliament building. It was only 12 years ago that Scotland decided to even have a parliament. The building is very interesting, but apparently very controversial in Scotland. Many people hate the design of it.
There really are lots of bagpipes playing here. It’s really neat to hear.
After our tour we did a lot of souvenir shopping. We saw lots of wool scarves, but one woman told us that most of the scarves are made in India, they just want you to think you’re buying a wool scarf crafted in Scotland.
I found a kilt store:)
Afterwards we came back to the hotel and played euchre with some friends. Now I’m ready to go to bed. Early rising again tomorrow morning- we’re heading back to Ireland.
