I can’t believe it’s been a week since Andrew and I got engaged. This has been the most incredible and memorable week of my life. Being able to share this overseas experience together, and getting engaged during it has been the experience of a lifetime.
This morning we got up early (surprise), had breakfast, and then headed to another walking tour. This walking tour was actually quite boring. The woman talked incredible fast and even gasped for air every few sentences. Needless to say, it was a bit difficult to keep up with her. I did my best though, and I managed to get some pictures.
We just walked around the city for awhile afterwards. Andrew still wanted me to try a delicious kebab since he’s been eating them everywhere. A few of us stopped at a place called Abrakebabra to try some kebabs there. They were awful. They were smothered in ketchup and cabbage. It makes my stomach a little weak just thinking about it. Andrew is bummed that we didn’t get to experience delicious kebabs together.
After walking around the city for a couple more hours, Andrew and I headed to Cabinteely. He got to meet my host family! We all had dinner, and even John, Nola, and Laura came over too. It was really high energy (as it always is with the whole family), and I was so happy for Andrew to get to experience what my life is like here. He really enjoyed the family, and the home cooked meal too! There was a “Congratulations” card for us in my room when we arrived.
Afterwards they made us some tea, just like I had promised Andrew they would. After watching the Masters with Steve for a bit, we headed off back into the city for the evening. We decided to take a different bus because it came sooner, but it apparently was not the bus we thought it was. It dropped us off way earlier than expected, so Andrew got to experience a little bit of running to the next bus stop with me. I am no stranger to this here.
I’ve called it a night, I’m going to bed now. Tomorrow is my last day with Andrew for the next 6 weeks. I’m not excited about that.
