Cabinteely

I can't believe I arrived a week ago! Today was a nice Sunday. I slept in again until about 9:30. When I came downstairs for my daily Special K, Diane and I had a nice talk. She gave me some Cadbury mini-chocolates with caramel in them, she bought them for me as a "present." They compare to Rolos, but are MUCH more delicious. She told me all sorts of different places I need to visit while I'm here. She also helped me try to find a good type of transportation for me to get from the London airport to Andrew's hotel when I go on the Easter break. Unfortunately there were two hotels with the same name. She helped me call them, but none of them were able to give me any good information. She made me some toast on some sort of bread I had never heard of (I can't remember the name). She put marmalade spread on it as well. I had never had marmalade, it was really good though. We also talked a bit about she and Steve's years in the Navy. Steve rode on helicopters and she would help fix them. A few days ago Steve said, "I would bend them and she would mend them." The Navy is where they met.

Afterwards, Steph and I went for a walk through Cabinteely village to a HUGE Dunnes Stores. It has a grocery section, a clothing section, and a section for kitchenware. They have some super cheap stuff! I got a pair of leggings for 4 Euros, and a pair of sweatpants to wear around the house for 5 euros. I decided to try out some of the Doritos because I have been CRAVING them. I want the "nacho cheese" flavor, but the closest-looking thing they had was called "tangy cheese."

This is my "Oh my, I hope these are good face." They ended up being very similar, but not exact. They will do for now, but once I get to America that will be the first thing I hit up!

I have said this every day, but the weather today was just beautiful! It was the best day so far, even nicer than yesterday. On our walk through Cabinteely we found a park! We had no idea it was there. It is beautiful! We are planning to relax there sometime. There were lots of pretty yellow and purple flowers lined up along a row of trees. The grass was very soft and green. There was also a cute little pond. What a lucky find!

These signs are everywhere. Such a nice way to say "dead end."

Eileen came over for dinner, and so did Jamie's girlfriend. We had two pasta dishes. One was tomato-based and had tuna, the other had leek and something else. Who knows, all I know is that it was tasty and I was hungry! I did Hayley's hair in "plaits" again, surprise!

Tomorrow I will start my first day in "second class" (second grade). I am excited.
